So, Dan and I are (not very patiently) sitting here waiting for the truck to arrive with thousands of copies of KOBOLDS ATE MY BABY! In Colour!!!
In the meantime, here are some quick updates:
Tally's Treasury ( http://tallystreasury.com/ ) is done with all of the HAND MADE Kobold plush dolls, and John Kovalic has personally sketched and signed all of the KOBOLD ADOPTION CERTIFICATES. There are going to be mailed soon - so keep your eyes peeled on your mailbox...it might have a Kobold stuffed into soon (Kobolds Horrible Death #254 - Going Postal (Delivery)).
In addition to waiting on books to be delivered, we also have a ton of "additional materials" that are enroute to 9th Level HQ. These are to be included in the shipment of the book to backers (based on various levels):

Today, we got the final color proof from the printers of KOBOLDS ATE MY BABY! IN COLOUR!!! I gotta tell ya, it looks really awesome – but don’t take my word for it, check out the video preview. It appears that we are good to go to print.
What this means is that in a few weeks, we will have stacks and stacks of little blue books to stuff into boxes with dice and prizes and send them to you. Depending on your level prizes include: Munchkin Bookmarks, Kovalic ART PRINTS, retailer signage, Membership Cards, and delicious orange dice with a silly minigame.
Barring anything unseen, we’re looking to have them shipped in 6-8 weeks. (Add a few for KOVALIC STALKERS).
The plush kobolds are about ready to ship. I spoke with John Kovalic tonight and he expects to have sketches on the certificates done next week and sent to Tally’s Treasures who have been busy stuffing the last few kobolds. Like you, I can’t wait to hug one of these things to death! FELT DEATH HUGS!!!
Once this whole Kickstarter wraps up, 9th Level plans to do a series on what we learned – to help the next bunch of KSers. A few important things that we learned were:
KS Backers are awesome, informed, and interested caring people. Keeping them involved in the project is worth the time and effort.
We learned that we had a lot to learn about the realities of printing and layout in the era of InDesign and digital printing.
We learned a lot* about how to actually do printing and layout in the era of InDesign and digital printing.
We learned that we are bad at estimating time.
So what does all of this mean. Well, it means that we will need more time than we thought we would need to get More Things To Kill and Eat completed than we had anticipated. Partly, that’s because we need to do some rewrites based on changes that we made to KAMB in the new edition. Partly, it means that we have a much better understanding of the amount of time that we will need to properly edit and layout MT2K&E to ensure that it’s the best book that it can be.
So – we will be spending the next few months of the year working on More Things while we finish up and get you the mini-supplements of WARLOCKS APPRENTICE and VOR’S FIST (instead of the other way around), and will continue to keep you abreast of where we are with the books. Our initial estimates of an Oct/Nov delivery for these was just way off – those were timelines that we could make when we were making 24 page books with a photocopier - not big juicy color books!
As I write this, I am looking at the proof copy of KAMB In Colour!!! and I can’t thank you all enough for your support of this venture. We still have some work to do – but the primary goal of this Kickstarter was to get Kobolds Ate My Baby back in print – and as I look at what we have made with your help – I am so excited and proud and giddy. ITS IN COLOR! Thank you so much, and I can’t wait to get this in your hands.

*For the curious – it’s a lot, like a lot a lot, easier to make PDFS than it is to make full color books! It was also easier to print stuff when we used a photocopier - but wow, modern tools are awesome! And GREP. GREP is awesome.
